Description Summary

We are looking for a National Sales Manager to take the helm of our U.S. retail and distribution sales strategy. This role offers the opportunity to lead and inspire a talented team of broker partners, build and deepen relationships with major retailers and distributors, and shape the direction of our national sales strategy across the natural channel.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual sales plans with clear tactics to deliver on net sales, profit, and distribution goals, working closely with Head of Sales and Finance.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, reporting, and performance analyses to Head of Retail Sales and leadership as requested.
  • Build and maintain meaningful reporting systems using distributor velocity data and direct sales metrics to support decision-making and transparency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for margin improvement, velocity increases, and sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Lead and inspire Nutrex Hawaii’s broker team – including regular interaction with 10–15 team members – fostering collaboration, accountability, and consistent execution against sales goals. Key distributor and retail accounts managed through our brokers include:  KeHE, UNFI, Threshold, Palko, Sprouts, Fresh Thyme, and others.
  • Evaluate and optimize broker coverage plans, ensuring strong field presence and effective training execution at key retail accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key direct house accounts such as iHerb, Vitamin Shoppe, Vitacost, Natural Grocers, and Thrive Market, ensuring mutual long-term value.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing to launch scalable training initiatives—both “in-aisle” and on-demand—that enhance product knowledge across broker teams and retail locations.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key customers to secure favorable outcomes for Nutrex Hawaii.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on production planning to maintain optimal inventory levels in support of sales goals.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure customer allowances & fees are processed accurately and on time.
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Support & Logistics to resolve orders, credits, and inventory dispositions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities to expand Nutrex Hawaii’s U.S. market presence.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Planning, and Supply Chain to align sales strategies with company objectives and ensure consistent brand execution.
  • Represent Nutrex Hawaii at trade shows, conferences, and industry events as needed to promote the brand and build strategic relationships.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and consumer insights to inform strategy and support innovation.
  • Be a calm, decisive force in a dynamic environment—taking thoughtful risks while honoring the heritage and vision of the Nutrex Hawaii brand.

Other Duties

  • Perform internal audits of quality system as needed.
  • Function in full compliance with GMP and any other pertinent regulatory requirements
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.

Physical Demands

May be required to sit for extended periods of time at a computer or talking on the phone. May need to lift up to 30lbs on occasion.

Will be required to travel as needed and must have use of a vehicle as needed.

May be required to work weekends and evenings.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a remote office environment. Travel to meetings, events, and shows will be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Management or Accounting or comparable experience providing the knowledge to successfully perform the responsibilities and duties of this position.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a Sales Leader in CPG, ideally in the natural supplement or wellness space.
  • Proven success managing key retail and distributor accounts in the natural channel, with a focus on profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Proven skills working with broker networks, including setting expectations, providing training, and driving accountability.
  • Ability to navigate both strategy and execution—you know when to dive deep and when to zoom out.
  • Proven success as a data-informed decision maker, with the ability to translate numbers into actionable insights.
  • Ability to be a change-ready leader who’s energized by improving systems and questioning the status quo.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator who can lead with empathy while holding the bar high.
  • Able to bring a robust natural channel network-existing relationships with retailers and sales professionals that support fast traction.
  • Experience using sales forecasting software.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in math and PC-based computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including time management, multi-tasking, and project management.
  • Proven Customer Management Relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High level of self motivation and ability to perform in a telecommuting situation with minimal direction.
