Cyanotech Receives Export Achievement Award From US Department of Commerce

KAILUA KONA, Hawaii (May 21, 2010) — Cyanotech Corporation (Nasdaq Capital Market: CYAN) has received an Export Achievement Certificate Award from the US Department of Commerce. The award is determined by the Hawaii Export Assistance Center of the department. It was presented by Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle, together with John Holman, Director of the Hawaii Export Assistance Center, U.S. Department of Commerce, at the Hawaii State Capitol in Honolulu.

The award recognized Cyanotech as one of nine Hawaii companies that have shown excellence in developing global opportunities for their products and services and have expanded their operations by growing their exports of Hawaii products.

Cyanotech produces its microalgae products in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii and exports them to 58 countries on six continents. It began its microalgae operations in Kona in 1984 and has been in continuous production since that time.

Accepting the award, interim CEO David Rosenthal said, “We are pleased to gain this recognition from the Department of Commerce for our company and its products, and proud of our achievement as an exporter from Hawaii.
